It’s kind of funny when you see how power can bring out the true identity of a person.
I knew some people who seem to be born as ones with powers. Effortlessly, they know what to do far before they were chosen as leaders. People seem to have voluntary affection towards them. In the end, as what others already expected, the period of their leadership might as well be one of the most effective leadership the world have seen. To meet and personally know some of these people is surely a great privilege for me. I might learn one or two things about making people go in the direction we want without they even realized.
For some people, it means they must take a very good care of their behavior, so that other people will no longer see them as inexperienced few who completely don’t fit for the job. Their words were carefully chosen, their gestures were carefully performed. All in all, for the sake of their public image. I have seen some of them, and they look fascinating, to the least. Not only in the end, they earn what they deserve to-that other people can actually agree to accept them as leaders-but they also maintain their higher status even after they no longer take the job.
Sadly, those two fairytale stories are easier told than done.
There were ones whom people believe will perform best had they been chosen as leaders. Such big expectation turns out to be a major disappointment after everyone learnt that these people don’t even understand a single thing about handling responsibilities. What is more unfortunate is when you find that there are some people blind enough to recognize this weakness at the beginning, and seems to be very comfortable with their ignorance that they refuse to acknowledge such incapability after series of proof are brought right in front of their eyes.
A funnier thing occured when you actually found that there are some who desperate enough to earn people’s expectation that they suck up to everyone. You may not recognize these people in the first place, since perhaps by that time, you already get sucked by their sweet words. But if you look close enough, you can easily spot who they are. They are those who are so busy paying attention to other’s weaknesses while coincidentally forgetting to see that the biggest downpoints lie comfortably under their sleeves. They are those who are terribly upset about people’s disappointment over them. In short words , they are those who seem to be pretty on the outside, but God knows what lies inside.
One might ask, which stories do I think I will fit in?
I should say none, because I was hardly a leader. I pretty much like to observe people, but not so much enjoying the fact that I am being observed. Selfish, isn’t it? Say what you will, but you’ll understand that people like me exist, and they do to tell the stories.
