K-drama?

First, I want to make it clear that I’m not against Korean drama, but not a fan either. It’s just that it’s become so humongous that it seems to be everywhere. And I mean really EVERYWHERE!

Look around you! Even if you’re not a fan like me, you can still name five Korean series easily. And I know what I’m going to say is probably incorrect, but I think they all share the same storylines, don’t they? Pretty girls, pretty boys, strict parents, the tragic death of one of the leads, tears and cry, etc.

And if you ever heard about Mad TV, here’s a great parody on the stereotypes of Korean series on Mad TV. See how the subtitles at the end does not really match with what the characters said!

PS: That’s just for a joke.

Yesterday was terrific. Almost all my friends who went to Indonesia – having their Lebaran time with the family – had returned back here. And what could’ve been better things to expect than all the oleh-oleh they brought for me?

This time, they – Idos and Agung – brought me (actually, I’ve asked them first before they left) something that you rarely see in Singapore – the so-called makan place, Asian cuisine heaven etc.

Maaf

Kata yang cukup populer akhir-akhir ini.

Di hari yang penuh sukacita dan kemenangan ini, maaf menjadi sebuah ’sarana’ pengukuhan kembali hubungan antarmanusia.

Bersalaman, mengirim pesan singkat, menelpon, mengirim kartu/surat, dan banyak cara lain untuk menyampaikan maaf.

Maaf memang mudah diucapkan, itu yang saya rasakan.

Kadang terpikir, apa sebenarnya saya sudah benar-benar meminta maaf atau memaafkan?

Saya sendiri tidak yakin, tapi perasaan damai ketika bermaaf-maafan, bertemu kawan, berbicara dan bercanda sudah cukup membuat saya puas.

Mudah-mudahan maaf yang saya pinta dan beri adalah tulus.

Jika tidak,

maka kembali saya ingin berkata,

maafkanlah saya.

Campur-campur (2): The Artist

Sebelum mulai, gw mau cerita dulu. Di NTU ini, gw ikut ke dalam “Tim” Tari Saman, tari tradisional khas Aceh. Alasan gw gabung adalah untuk menyalurkan bakat nari gw yang terpendam sejak lama, serta bakat-bakat lainnya seperti keinginan tampil di hadapan beribu pasang mata melestarikan kebudayaan Indonesia serta mempromosikan budaya Indonesia di mata dunia. Tim Saman NTU ini udah terbentuk sejak lama, kapan pastinya gw juga gak tahu. Tim ini juga udah sering tampil di mana-mana, mulai dari even-even internal NTU seperti MSE Day, ato ICFF (International Culture and Food Festival), sampe even-even berskala nasional/internasional seperti IAF (Indonesian Art Festival) 2003 dan 2005, acara di Suisse Hotel (ejaannya bener gak yah?) bersama model-model asal Rusia, sampai acara yang dihadiri Presiden Singapura sendiri, Bpk. S.R. Nathan. Gimana gak hebat tuh? *wekekekke… narsis yang dahsyat sedang menggelora di dalam jiwa*

Campur-campur (1): Miscellaneous

Wow, udah enam hari gak update. Hehe.. lagi-lagi alasan lama: sibuk, capek, kurang waktu, de el el, de ka ka, de es te.

Karena udah cukup lama, entri kali ini bakalan ‘lumayan’ panjang. Tag-nya pun beraneka ragam. Mulai dari bad mood, bahasa indo (jelas lah!), cool one, friends, movies, ampe schools.

I couldn’t sleep well if I don’t post this one (Well, not that bad actually). First, let me just begin with the entry I posted few weeks ago. It’s about that buzz around this year’s Nobel Prize for Peace winner. I wrote that one of Indonesian news website, detik.com had put too much articles regarding Yudhoyono (he’s Indonesian President – for those who’s apathetic enough to recognize his name) being the front runner, even though all this speculation only came from betting website

Duh, kambuh lagi deh penyakit lama: N.G.A.N.T.U.K!!

Huhu, kapan aja, dimana aja, bawaannya ngantuuukk melulu. Apa ini ada kaitannya dengan bangun pagi buat sahur trus musti mandi dan siap-siap berangkat jam 6.45? Err… bisa iya bisa enggak. Soalnya, sebelum bulan Ramadhan pun gw udah terbiasa bangun pagi (Ciee… padahal cuma pas attachment doank sih). Skarang kok jadi aneh lagi.

Supermom

Wise man said Only fools rush in Behind every succesful man, there is a great woman. True, I couldn’t agree more with them, but my question is how ‘great’ a woman should be so that her man could be succesful.

I’m not going to talk only about man-woman as a couple, I’m talking about something more general, like in a family where a woman plays a tremendously challenging role as a housewife. But beforehand, I do want to apologize for any false assumptions whatsoever written here. It’s a man-made entry after all.

masak rawon itu susah

Hari Minggu yang lalu, gw ama Idos belanja bahan makanan ke Fair Price. Rencananya sih, buat persiapan sahur selama kurang lebih 1 minggu. Males kan kalo tiap dua hari sekali musti keluar buat belanja. Anyway, pas lagi mikir-mikir menu yang cocok, terlintaslah ide yang cukup ‘baru’ ini: R.a.w.o.n.

Just call me Tegar

Not many happened to me in the last few days, well, actually, there are many, but it’s not that interesting to mention, like I had a good relaxing Saturday where I spent most of my time practically doing nothing, carried on with a frantic Sunday with all the dance rehearsal, groceries shopping, gathering with friends while enjoying our dinner, and lastly cooking for my sahur meal. Hmm, pretty much of a mid-aged housewife, isn’t it?

Anyway, living as a twenty-years old single charming guy has taught me a lot. I learnt to depend on myself as much as possible. It’s quite difficult at the beginning, but I believe if I take even one small but continuous step at a time, I could soon be able to stand on my own feet.

Enough of the morality and such, how bout talking something interesting? Perhaps, nicknames?
