How to stay awake in your office while feeling bored and sleepy so bad?

  1. Go to the pantry, see what they have there. Couples of hot Milo or creamed coffee could be a good start.
  2. If it doesn’t work, try finding out what your fellow colleagues keep inside those cupboard on the pantry walls. One or two bites will go just fine. They’ll understand that.
  3. Go online! Internet will never be boring! What? IT guys block the access? You can’t log in to your friendster account? Well, in that case, what a shame.. Maybe you should start taking your Sudoku or PSP to the office tomorrow.
  4. Go to that emergency staircase people never climb on. If you are into sport, going up and down for a couple of times can keep you busy for a while. If you aren’t, go to the uppermost floor. From there, use the staircase to reach the ground floor while counting how many steps there are. After that, go up and count them again. See whether both results match.
  5. Make your own puzzle using bunch of Post-It. It doesn’t need to be good, at least you could understand what you’re doing.
  6. Visit your company’s documents room. Make sure noone’s there (most of the time). See whether there’s any file lying on the table or on the floor. Try to arrange them according to your name. Example: my name’s Tegar, so I should start with files with initial T, continue with initial E, and so on. (You can also add your pet name, your gmail account and so on behind your name). If it doesn’t work, arrange them backward.
  7. Go to the receptionist desk, and take a seat somewhere near. Wait for any guest to come. And if everyone is busy, take this clueless unfamiliar person to that documents room. Tell them to wait right there. After that, go to your desk as soon as possible and pretend to have something in hand. But be aware, make sure that you are taking the right person. Don’t get mistake with other unfamiliar employees, especially your boss.
  8. And if you really can’t stand at all and are dying to sleep, the toilet beside the docs room is usually empty. Take a sleep over there, noone will find out (unless that guest you put there has gone bored and he wanted to take a leak).
